About Wax Orchards
The Wax Orchards firm was founded in 1920 by August and Johanna Wax. Our
experience with many phases of fruit farming ranges from tart cherries to
apples, apricots and peaches to currants and gooseberries.
Three generations of hands-on experience with soil, fruit varieties and
nutrition form the basis of our food philosophy. Our aim is to create high
quality, Clean LabelTM products.
That is, no additives or anything we cannot recognize or pronounce
and would rather not eat.
With that in mind, daughter Betsy and son-in-law Robert Sestrap began
food preserving in 1981, they chose the simple methods of original
American settlers. Only whole ripe fruit makes high-fiber, very thick
preserves without using any water or pectin. Careful cooking preserves the
fresh-cooked flavor, unusual in preserves.
We hope that Clean LabelTM will
become as familiar a term as Fruit Sweetened has become
since we introduced it in 1981.
How others see us:
"Makers of some darn good chocolate sauce ...." Seattle Times.
"High quality ingredients are the company's
hallmark."--
